The UC Haiti Initiative @ UC Berkeley is an organization driven by students, faculty, researchers, and affiliates who are applying academia to find real solutions. This is a call to action for those affected by the Haiti Earthquake in January 2010; the chapter was founded in April 2010.
At UC Berkeley, we are working toward a shared vision of the future for growth and development among the Haitian community. A vision in which we develop new ways of working together at a global and national level within the University stretching to the local levels throughout Haiti. A vision that has poor people and poor communities at its center, and a vision which focuses action on the causes and consequences of the post-earthquake conditions that have created and perpetuated poverty.
We invite you to learn how you can get involved with the redevelopment of Haiti. Please contact ucb.director@uchaiti.org for any questions or comments.
